Are snorkel masks one size fits all?
Figuring out what size snorkel mask you need is going to be different for everyone. Snorkel Masks come in extra-small, small, medium, large and extra-large but are not uniformly made across different brands. This means that you are going to need to use sizing charts to see how size varies between brands.
How do I stop my snorkel mask fogging up?
If your mask fogs up while out snorkeling, simply tread water, spit in your mask a couple times, rub it around, give it a really quick rinse and then put your mask back on. Be sure to get as much water out of the mask as you can before putting your mask back on.
How do you stop a snorkel mask from leaking?
Fold the mask strap over the front of the mask to keep it out of the way. Make sure all your hair is clear from around your face where the mask will seal. Even one strand of hair can break the seal. Offer the mask up to your face to create the seal, double checking no hair is caught underneath the silicone skirt.
Why don’t you dive with a snorkel in your mouth?
When you breath-hold dive underwater with a snorkel in your mouth, you typically use your tongue to seal the mouth piece. Your tongue essentially acts as a small barrier stopping the water inside your snorkel running through the mouth piece and into your lungs. This isn’t very safe.
