How much does a liferaft cost?
Pricing for new liferafts suitable for typical cruising sailboats is readily available from the major online chandleries and varies from around $1,000 to around $4,000 depending on manufacturer, number of people, mounting method, and coastal vs. offshore.
How often is liferaft inspected?
The manufacturer of your life raft does have a recommended service interval. Today the most common is every three (3) years although there are still rafts which annual servicing is recommended. I am not aware of any manufacturer with a recommended interval longer than three (3) years.
