Can I bring my own snorkel gear on a cruise?
Yes, you can take a snorkeling kit on a cruise. No cruise companies forbid the use of personal gear.
Can you bring your own snorkel gear to CocoCay?
Yes. You’re welcome to bring your own snorkel, mask, vest and flippers to CocoCay. If you prefer, you can also hire snorkel gear on the island.
Do snorkeling tours provide gear?
Most, if not all, Hawaii snorkel tour companies provide complimentary use of snorkel gear. In our experience, the equipment quality on snorkel tours has been very good. Most even offer masks with prescription lens.
Can you snorkel at CocoCay for free?
CocoCay is a great place to enjoy a swim, as the water is clear and refreshing. And it doesn’t cost anything, and there’s nothing wrong with free. There’s a main swimming area, located adjacent to Snorkel Beach, but you can really swim anywhere–that includes Watersport Beach, Wanderers Beach and Barefoot Beach.
Can you go to CocoCay without cruise?
However, you can’t just pop over in a private boat and enjoy the amenities. CocoCay is leased by Royal Caribbean International for use exclusively by its visiting cruise ships.
Does CocoCay have a lazy river?
The new Coco Cay is absolutely AMAZING. From the water slides, swim up bar, long lazy river(even though you can’t have floats or mats in there), the cabanas, entertainment, zip-line lots of food and drinks and much more.
What should you not wear while snorkeling?
Women may wish to avoid wearing a string bikini when snorkeling because the ties can get caught on things in the water and easily come undone. Any kind of swimsuit with a skirt is not well-suited to snorkeling since the fabric can float up and obstruct your view of marine life below.
How do you travel with snorkel gear?
Keep it close and safe in your carry on if you can. However, TSA rules can be ever-changing and inconsistent, so if for some reason you can’t carry it on, pack it in the very center of your checked bag surrounded by shock-absorbing clothes. If you have a hard case for it, be sure to use it.
Can you return snorkel gear?
Bathing suits, mouth pieces, and snorkels are items of personal hygiene and for health reasons may not be returned once used or worn. Items that have never been worn or used in original packaging or with original tags attached are never a problem to return.
How do you pack fins on a carry on?
Simply screw the fin blades off and put them in your large suitcase (if they fit!). This is an option, if you don’t mind the hassle of playing ‘fin tetris’ – trying to fit 30-inch long blades into a suitcase that wasn’t built for it. Most long freediving fins will struggle to fit in your average suitcase.
